The current version of BOMBANANA! is v1.0.2, a matchmaking and quality-of-life patch shipped on September 10, 2026. It adds matchmaking so solo players can easily find teammates, rebalances level difficulty, and carries several lobby, controller, and voice fixes. This page tracks every update; each patch gets added here as Lefto Studio ships it.
v1.0.2 — Matchmaking & QoL Patch (September 10, 2026)
Lefto Studio shipped v1.0.2 roughly a week after the v1.0.1 hotfix. Its headline addition is matchmaking: solo players can now queue and the game finds teammates for them — a meaningful change for a strictly 3-player game. It continues the studio's balance and polish pass with five changes:
- Added matchmaking to help solo players easily find and join other players.
- Improved level difficulty balance.
- Fixed the controller UI not appearing when playing with a controller.
- Added a button to hide and reveal the lobby code.
- Made adjustments to the sound and voice chat systems.
For how matchmaking changes your options for assembling a team, see the multiplayer guide. Prior to this patch, the version history looked like this: the v1.0.1 launch-week hotfix (September 3), then the v1.0.0 launch build (September 2).
Status as of September 24, 2026
v1.0.2 (September 10) is still the current version: Lefto Studio has shipped no further patch as of September 24, 2026. The studio's only newer announcement is the 1 MILLION MONKEYS! post of September 18, 2026, marking two weeks since launch and opening a Youtooz merch vote that is no longer open as of September 24, 2026. The earlier 500,000-player milestone (September 7) and the full timeline are covered in the release date guide.
v1.0.1 — Launch Hotfix (September 3, 2026)
Lefto Studio shipped this hotfix one day after release to fix the issues players hit during the first 24 hours:
- Fixed cracking and distorted sounds in Voice Chat.
- Fixed an issue where some players could not hear or speak through Voice Chat.
- Fixed incorrect placement of the Yes/No text in Spanish.
- Fixed Voice Chat audio still playing in 3D on the Report panel after returning to the lobby from a run.
The same announcement confirmed the team is still investigating the launch version's random crashes (see Known Issues below), and thanked players for the launch support.
What v1.0.0 Shipped (September 2, 2026)
The launch build is the reference version every guide on this wiki describes:
- 3 game modes — Campaign (30 handcrafted levels), Endless (procedural waves), Custom (tunable bombs).
- 14 puzzle modules — 11 standard modules plus 3 CHAOS modules.
- Environmental hazards — power outages, loud noises, hazardous objects.
- Social layer — slapping, emotes for everyone, voice-synced mouth animations.
- Lobby improvements — server browser, room codes, Random Role button.
- 23 Steam achievements and a colorblind mode.
For the full feature rundown, see the release date guide.
Known Issues
As of the v1.0.1 announcement, one issue is officially acknowledged:
- Random crashes — some players experience random game crashes. Lefto Studio is investigating and working on a fix; v1.0.2 did not mention crashes, so the issue is still open as of September 24, 2026. If your game freezes or drops, it is a known bug, not your setup.
Anything else you encounter should be reported through the official channels — the Steam Community Hub or the official Discord are the places the developers actually read.
Launch Price Timeline
- Launch discount: -38% (about $4.95 in the US), which ran through September 9, 2026.
- The launch window is over: the price is back to the standard $7.99, with no discount active as of September 24, 2026.
For regional pricing and everything else about buying the game, see the download guide.
Where Updates Get Announced
Official patch notes are published by Lefto Studio on the Steam Community Hub. The studio's social channels (Discord, X, Bluesky, Reddit) carry the same announcements. This page mirrors the substance of each patch — if the in-game behavior ever disagrees with what you read here, the Steam announcement is the source of truth.
For how the v1.0.1 voice fixes affect your team's setup, see the multiplayer guide.
This page is a community guide — strategies reflect the launch version (September 2026) and may shift after patches. The in-game defusal manual is always the final authority.
